PE Energy Commissions Portable Tightness Monitor Leak Detection System

PE Energy Limited, has completed the commissioning of a Portable Tightness Monitor Leak Detection System for Total Nigeria Plc at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, Nigeria. The project was completed on the 25th of October 2019.

The Portable Tightness Monitor consists of a computer unit and a depressurization manifold, which detects leaks within aviation fuel hydrant systems and short pipelines. The depressurization manifold is either installed directly onto the pipeline or through an aviation coupler onto a hydrant pit valve. A pressure sensor is then built into the manifold along with solenoid valve. This enables full control and measurement of a pressure step-based leak detection method which negates the effects of temperature change. The depressurization manifold should be fitted with a hose that enables product from the pipeline to flow into a container during depressurization. The results of a tightness test will then notify the operator of any leaks in the pipeline.

The Micro Manifold consists of aviation hose, set of connecting dry-disconnect couplers, measuring cylinder, two ball valves and a fine adjustment flow control valve. Atmos Micro Manifold is a leak simulation tool. It induces controlled leaks on airport hydrant systems and short pipelines to calibrate Atmos Portable Tightness Monitor and Atmos Tightness Monitor.
