PE Center Of Excellence
The PE Center of Excellence Facility is under construction, bound to be launched in Spring 2021. The size of the facility is an area of 10,820 square meters and consists another decisive step of the company, towards global expansion and growth.
The PE Center of Excellence Facility will house an Automation & Control Center, an Electrical & Instrumentation Center, a Metering Assembly & Calibration Center, a Valve Assembly & Automation Center, an Overhaul & Re-certification Center, a Consultancy & Training workshop, an Administrative Building and a Utility area.
Daere Afonya-A Akobo
Founder & GMD
Daere Akobo is an entrepreneur and business mentor. He holds the offices of Chairman with PANA Holdings and of GMD with PE Energy Ltd.
Daere counts over 20 years of experience in the operations of the Oil & Gas sector, across a wide range of the spectrum, including electrical, instrumentation, condition and vibration monitoring, flow metering processes and procurement. In his early career, Daere has worked with the International Petroleum Company of Nigeria as an Electrical Instrumentation Superintendent before moving-on to TOTAL E&P as a Technical Stock Controller supporting the Procurement Department. During his employment with General Electric Nigeria, he stood-out for his business acumen (he was able to quadruple the company's sales during 2007-8), as well as for his social skills (it was repeatedly due to his intervention that disputes between clients and partners of the company were resolved) and was eventually crowned with the award of ''top talent'' throughout the African continent.
At that point, he departed on his own business venture and in 2009, after realizing the need to bridge the gap between user expectations and market offerings in the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry at the time, he founded Plant Engineering Limited, which was later-on renamed to PE Energy Limited. PE Energy soon became recognized for its unassailable integrity and for the attention it lends to regulatory compliance and standards. Daere has made PE Energy an exemplary part of the NCD program, ensuring not only strict compliance with all applicable standards, but setting the bar even higher, through the construction of a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Trans Amadi. Through a wide range of prestigious business alliances, Daere has been strengthening the company’s international business footprint, leading it with a steady pace to a course of solid, sustainable growth.
Daere holds a degree in Applied Physics and is a distinguished alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School, the INSEAD Business School and the Manchester Business School. He has been honored with several excellence awards by many European business partners (e.g. the ''Super Vendor Delivery Performance Award'' by Shell, the “Honeywell EMEA Best Sales Award” etc.) and has risen to become a trusted point of reference for many international businesses wishing to enter Nigeria through association with a local party.
Iyenemi has been the backbone of the entire organization since its inception. With a background in Business Administration and CLE training in various international institutions in London, Dubai and Harvard. She has become a central figure in the administration of the group and a valued contributor to the growth of the business structure.
She has held and efficiently managed key positions enabling and spurring the growth vision of the Chairman. She is the Executive Director responsible for the Corporate Services Unit, additionally supervising the HR, the Commercial Services and part of the accounting functions. She is also driving the implementation of all Corporate Governance requirements on the ground together with a dedicated team of professionals.
Lawrence Obhiose is an experienced and seasoned financial service professional with extensive corporate experience in the areas of: Private Partnership Advisory, Project Finance, Capital Raising, Strategic and Commercial Due Diligence. He currently oversees the financial strategies and activities as well as developing tools and system to provide critical financial and operational information to the management and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations. Lawrence Obhiose started his career with Details Consulting Limited where he was a senior consultant. He has held several positions in different sectors such as a Deputy Audit Manager, Admin Manager, Payroll/Finance Analyst, and Finance Manager. Lawrence Obhiose has attended many Management, Leadership and Professional Trainings. He holds a HND in Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science in Finance & Banking. He is also an Associate member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
